Job Description:
Mouse Night is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team and help us develop and maintain the network infrastructure for our cutting-edge online multiplayer games. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering and a passion for gaming. You will work closely with our development team to ensure seamless online experiences for our players.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for online multiplayer games, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
Collaborate with game developers, designers, and producers to integrate networking solutions into game features and systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, working with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and enhance the player experience.
Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and potential improvements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in networking for online gaming, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of network documentation, including network diagrams, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on online gaming or a similar high-performance environment.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, technologies, and concepts, including TCP/IP, UDP, routing, and switching.
Experience with network security, firewalls, and VPNs.
Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of online multiplayer game requirements.
Bonus Points:
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Knowledge of game development engines, such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
Familiarity with game server architectures and development.
